Curtis J. Tarver II

Curtis is a plaintiff’s trial attorney. His passion is fighting for justice on behalf those who need the most but who can least afford representation. Whether pursuing a case against and individual, governmental agency, large company or a dominant insurer, he is a tough and fierce advocate who does not mince words when it comes to the importance of holding those who harm and injure others accountable.

He has unique experience in both the public and private sector. Curtis began his legal career at a midsized civil defense firm. Having prior experience representing defendants allows him to quickly value claims and to bring resolution for his clients. When it is necessary to fully litigate a matter he has tried cases and obtained several million dollars on behalf of his clients.

Curtis is State Representative for the 25th District (Illinois); however, giving back and public service have always been a priority for him. He formerly served as an Assistant to Mayor Richard M. Daley, in the Mayor’s Office of Intergovernmental Affairs, as Director of Public Affairs for the Independent Police Review Authority and as an Administrative Law Judge for the City of Chicago.

He serves on several boards including DePaul USA which is a national homelessness services nonprofit and he Co-Chairs an initiative for Big Shoulders Fund focusing on mentoring Black male students throughout the organization’s student population.

Above all Curtis is a dedicated and loving father to his incredibly intelligent and witty daughter (affectionately known as “MiniCJT”) who describes him as a “strict father with a good heart.”

In his spare time Curtis enjoys reading, sports and various entrepreneurial ventures.

Curtis received his J.D. at the University of Iowa and his B.S. at Iowa State University.
